Friday night was full of rock! The Knitting Factory was bumpin’ with some really great bands: Ume from Austin, Starset from Columbus, and The Nixon Rodeo from Spokane. These three bands from different corners of the country joined forces for this tour and THANK YOU to the X for bringing them in PLUS they gave away free tickets to some lucky listeners! I LOVE shooting concerts. At the beginning of the year I just put that out into the Universe: I want to shoot more concerts this year. And I’ve already had several opportunities, which I’m grateful for. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
The Nixon Rodeo:
There was a bonus show at Treefort Music Festival this year. The History of Boise Rock showcase brought together seven bands who originated from Boise, but had broken up. Most of these bands were big hits in the 90’s, and they all reunited for this concert! Caustic Resin was a big draw, featuring Brett Netson (also a member of Built to Spill). The concert was held at the El Korah Shrine in Boise, ID.
Built to Spill always draws a crowd in their hometown. They are a beloved part of Boise’s rock history and are still going strong after 20+ years. There were actually several opportunities to see BTS over the 4 days of the Treefort Music Festival, and each show was at capacity with a line around the corner of eager fans hoping and praying someone inside would come out for a smoke.
